Remember Your First Day of School?

by Mary May Larmoyeux

school busKids around the country are beginning to return to school. Some of my grandkids started school yesterday!

On the Legacy Connection blog, I shared some ideas for grandparents to connect with their grands as the school year begins. These these ideas can work for parents, too!

One idea is to share what it was like when you started school … perhaps showing the kids one of your childhood pictures, when you were their age.

Do you remember the day you started school? I had missed the first few days of First Grade because I had been sick. I remember standing in front of a class of complete strangers … terrified!

What was it like when you first walked through those kindergarten or first-grade doors?  You may want to share these memories with loved ones around the dinner table or write them down in a story or letter.
