It’s amazing how just a few words can make a lasting impact … for decades.
Take Winston Churchill’s famous saying, “Never, never, never give up.” At least that’s how many of us have recalled his words.
But the fact is, that’s not what he said. Churchill was giving a speech at Harrow School in 1941 when he said:
“… Never give in, never give in, never, never, never — in nothing, great or small, large or petty — never give in except to convictions of honor and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy. … “
As writers, it’s important for us to not only check our quotes but also to tell ourselves to “Never, never, never give up.”
